WHAT DOES EL KANNA MEAN?
OUR GOD IS AN ALL CONSUMING FIRE
The name El Kanna (also rendered El Qanna) is one of the revealed names of God in the Hebrew Scriptures. It means “Jealous God” or “Consuming Fire.”
This is not a jealousy born of insecurity — but of holy, passionate love. El Kanna reveals God’s fierce commitment to His people and His refusal to share their devotion with anything that tries to take His place. It reflects a righteous protectiveness over what belongs to Him and an unrelenting desire for purity in relationship.
At Elkanna Productions, this name is our foundation. It reminds us that the stories we tell are not casual entertainment — they are acts of devotion, designed to confront idolatry, awaken hearts, and point everything back to the One who is worthy of exclusive worship.
